After assisting in a due diligence report, it was determined that upgrades were required. campos design created a new identity to the police station that compliments the existing history and revived downtown.
To keep the 24-hour mission critical building fully operational, it was master planned for two phases. The highest level of construction administration was used during the civil unrest while the building was under construction. New techniques were implemented by the G.C. and campos design to accommodate a daily changing schedule, in light of the events, to maintain the budget and stay on time.
A new court room and dais with bullet proof walling was added along with a state-of-the-art dispatch for enhanced response time. Key features included high density mobile shelving in the evidence room, an armory, Sally Port, briefing/training room that can be used for emergency purposes, detox, and jail cells.
