campos design was selected to perform MHDCHC’s master plan. After a thorough analysis, various sites were selected. Homer G Phillips Health Center will serve as the new prototype for future hubs in the St. Louis area.
A central atrium spine filters natural day lighting to both sides while dividing the building into two wings. The main wing revolves around a spoke and wheel concept for patient processing. The processing desk is located in the middle and serves as the spoke, while the other providers function as the wheel. Adult medicine health, pediatrics, podiatry, chiropractic, and ophthalmology, are in proximity.
The other wing features a dentist office, nurse in-take rooms, lab, pharmacy with drive-thru, soil and clean rooms. Yellow panels where chosen to help identify and reinvent the MHDCHC brand to the public. The blended brick pays homage to the context.
