Located in the growing city of McKinney, Texas, the local residents were in desperate need of an area that housed a variety of sports, retail, and restaurants. After many site studies, a location was chosen for a state-of-the-art facility.
The facility will include an indoor turf field for soccer and arena football, a hockey rink, 12 hardwood basketball/volleyball courts, playground area, dodgeball, gymnastics, ballet, and taekwondo. A team store, food court, large common area on the mezzanine, and three party rooms will also be provided for social events.
The exterior tilt-wall structure includes warm colors of stone and wood timber that are featured throughout McKinney, while the interior uses Kalwall windows to allow for natural lighting. Turf fields use recycled rubber while sustainable water fixtures and light motion sensors are implemented in the design. The stained concrete floor features a basketball hoop, seen from atop the mezzanine.
