Nestled off a quiet road proudly sits a structure honed from the earth. The first thoughts upon seeing the site was the landscape and what could grow from this context. The key fundamental to the design was to breathe in nature. Examples of natural day-lighting and framed views are constant. A clerestory band gives the illusion of a floating roof which lends the interior spaces a relaxing state of well-being with indirect lighting. Local wood and limestone are implemented throughout. The residence boasts a tribute to local vegetation.
The heart of the house features a vaulted shaped ceiling with a linear run of clerestory that illuminates the great room and dining area. The floor to ceiling porcelain tile fire place cleverly uses embedded stacked wood not only as storage, but embraces it as a design element. This unique design features a master bedroom with his and her master bathrooms, joined in the center by a stone tile walk-through shower, followed by his and her master walk-in closets.
